Beware of Property Manager, Ken Phalen. He is biased against pets and seems to have had a bad experience with cats. Nightmare ending, to an already expensive year under lease. Not a fun way to end the summer for a young couple expecting their first child. He hired a professional cleaner for $850 after we thoroughly cleaned the residence. This is our second nightmare ending in a row. According to property manager, Ken Phalen, we lost our entire security deposit of $1850 and owe $300+ additional after all is said and done. I'll admit there were a few spots of carpet that were affected by our cat and her claws, but that is what a $500 pet deposit is for. All additional charges are 100% unethical. Good luck to anyone who had to deal will this specific individual. This is downright unaccpetable and we will be seeing this company in small claims court. Feel free to contact me for Ken Phalen's itemized description of the "damages" if you are in need of a good laugh because this whole conclusion to our tenancy is an absolute joke. If you do intend to rent through Ken Phalen, prepare to spend the duration of your lease wrapped in bubble wrap. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WORKING WITH KEN PHALEN TO MY WORST ENEMY. Unethical, downright evil, miserable, lonely old man. Ever been to small claims court? Miserable experience.
