I did self checkout. It kept telling me that I was bringing my own bag and was not ringing up my items. Also ice cream bars were a dollar off a box but it rang up the full price. I told the girl working there they were a dollar off and she said well maybe I got it wrong. I know I didn't. Not worth going back to show proof. I just wanted to get out of there. The whole ordeal was very time consuming & frustrating.

I have, for a long time, found Cub in Stillwater, MN to be regularly disappointing. In the past I have found multiple containers of moldy blueberries and smelly, decomposing tomatoes and have had to return boxes of spinach because upon opening them they have been slimy and decomposing in the middle of the box of leaves more often than not. Since the grocery store where I usually shop was out of cucumbers that I use for juicing purposes, I stopped at Cub as a last resort. I found that Cub's cucumbers are 50% more expensive than two of the three other grocery stores in town and their quality is less than half as good. Every cucumber in the bin was scarred, beat up, and shriveled on the ends. Cub: it is no longer 1990 and you are no longer the only game in town. You may want to try to compete at least a little. You will continue to be the absolute last resort emergency shop to me. Not for produce though. It is very frequently over priced for the poor quality. **Update to review** I was looking for a specific item that, according to a manufacturer's website, was only available in Stillwater at Cub, so I was required to go there, and to avoid making an extra stop, I decided to do the rest of my shopping there. Nice looking remodel, same unpleasant experience, same overpriced merchandise. I can go to Kowalski's and pay similar prices but get significantly better quality. Even Cub's self checkouts don't pass the test. Literally every other self checkout I have ever used has absolutely no problem with the shopping basket I use nearly every time I go grocery shopping. Sometimes it just needs staff verification as it is, admittedly, significantly heavier than a traditional reusable shopping bag. Not at Cub. I was unable to use it, so in order to avoid using disposable shopping bags. I had to scan my groceries, pile them up and load them in to my basket after completing my transaction. No fewer than 5 times over the course of my 30 minutes in Cub did I say "Dear God I hate this store."
